It's finally a new year once again! No matter the time of year, it's always good to take care of yourself. I have put together a complete list of all areas needed to have your best glow up yet!

I created an exhaustive planner and program that will have you feeling your absolute best self in as little as 4 weeks! To grab the planner now CLICK HERE. Keep reading to see what steps are needed for your ultimate glow up!

Mindset

Step #1: Morning quiet time

I know how tempting it can be to reach for your phone first thing in the morning, or to snooze your alarm until it's time to get read for the day. Believe it or not, being in the right mindset is is the absolute most important step in this entire process. If you aren't in the right mindset you won't be able to complete the 'fun' areas of your glow up. Morning quiet time, whether it be 20 minutes or an hour is essential to getting your head in the right space for the rest of your day. But, what to do during this quiet time?

Step #2: Planning/Journaling/Reading/Gratitude List

During your morning quiet time you'll want to take part in a calm, yet mentally rewarding activity. You can plan your day out, read a book, journal for the day, or even fill out a gratitude list to start your day. Regardless of what you choose, make sure that no screens or loud noises are involved.

Step #3: Positive self affirmations

To end your daily morning quiet time or prior to going to sleep at night practice some positive self affirmations in the mirror. I include a 30 day positive affirmation challenge checklist in my Glow Up Planner that can help guide you where to start if you struggle with positive affirmations.

Step #4: Track your moods

Mood trackers are one of my most suggested materials to get your mindset right. If you have all of your moods each day laid out in front of you, you are much more likely to notice certain patterns in bad moods. This can help you stop them from happening so often, or to eliminate them before they start. I also include a mood tracker in my Ultimate Glow Up Planner!

Step #5: Weekly check-ins

Each week you'll want to check in on how you are doing in all areas of life. Doing so will allow you to see what areas are causing you stress which will help guide you on what to be conscious of for the week ahead. This can be done during morning quiet time or before bed as well to end each week. You can jot your check-ins down in a notebook, or use the weekly check-in portion with prompts in my Glow Up Planner.

Step #6: Visualizations

Your brain is so much more powerful than you could ever imagine. I know there are a lot of manifestation experts popping up giving this same info, but a lot of what they say really is true. You truly can change your reality by changing your thinking. You need to visualize the life you want to be living before you can actually live that life. Again, this is something I go into great detail in the Glow Up Program.

Diet/Nutrition

Step #1: Drink more water

This one can sound so cliche, but DRINK MORE WATER! Drinking water is so important for your mind and body. It will aid in digestion, skin health, and of course hydration. My favorite water bottle has times on it to help keep you on track for the whole day. No more half full water bottle sitting on the counter at 7:00pm!

Step #2: Eat a well balanced diet

I want to be very clear before talking about this step. You should not be starving yourself, or depriving yourself of foods you love and you should always consult with your doctor about what your personal body does and does not need. However, typically you want to be decreasing processed sugars and increasing fresh fruits, veggies, and proteins. Planning out your meals can play a huge roll in eating a well balanced diet.

Step #3: Vitamins, Supplements & Medications

Make sure you are consistent with and keeping track of any vitamins, supplements or medications you are prescribed to be taking. I was horrible at remembering my daily vitamins and meds until I purchased one of these pill trackers. It takes the guessing out of whether or not you remember to take that supplement today or not!

Fitness

Step #1: Body measurement tracking

I know body measurements and the scale can sound scary, but if you don't know where you're starting you won't know where you need to go. It's important to track all of your measurements prior to starting this journey, so you can see success in small steps throughout your transformation. I use this digital scale every morning to help hold myself accountable. While the scale is not everything and can sometimes be kryptonite for some, it's very helpful for me personally. Make sure to take into account if the scale is or is not helpful for you and act accordingly.

Step #2: Cardio

Incorporate some type of cardio in your routine. Whether it be running, walking, swimming, or following the super simple 4 week cardio challenge in less than 5 minutes a day that is part of my Glow Up Program choose something and stick to it!

Step #3: Physical activity

By no means should you be killing yourself in the gym everyday, but getting in simple/low impact exercise 3-5 times a week (assuming you do not have restrictions from your doctor) will give you a major jump in your mental, physical, and emotional health. I'm a mom of 2 special needs toddlers, so I don't have much time for the gym. You can get just as good of a workout in right at home, even involving kids if you have them!

Beauty

Step #1: Whiten your teeth

In terms of beauty, one of the first thing most people will notice about you is your smile. There are tons of different methods available, but I like to use a combination of these white strips and this at home light treatment to whiten my teeth. Fun fact: my teeth are the number one thing I get compliments on and have ever since high school.

Step #2: Skincare

Just like with whitening your teeth, there are so many methods and so many skin types out there that I cannot give you a one size fits all. Do a little research on what products may work best for you skin type and stick to a plan long enough to see results. Be sure to track reactions and whether a product seems to be working or not after about 1 month of use.

Step #3: Haircare

Similar to skincare, do some research on hair products and a schedule for your specific hair type. Again, try out a routine for about 1 month and note the results you get from that routine and those products. Make adjustments as necessary.

Sleep and Cycle Health

Step #1: Healthy sleep habits

Start to create some healthy sleep habits. Be sure to be off of screens at least 1 hour before bed each night. Aim for at least 7 hours of sleep. Make sure your room is dark and cool, preferably without the television on. I found a sound machine to be extremely helpful when I was trying to transition away from falling asleep to the television. I started out using a generic sound machine that y

ou can find here from amazon that is very affordable. However, when my daughter was born I purchased a Hatch Sound Machine and honestly, I think it's 100% worth the hype. I would not go back to my previous sound machine unless I had to at this point.

Step #2: Cycle health

Believe it or not your cycle can be a huge eye into your health. Your hormones control SO much that goes on with your body and mind. I include a period tracker in my Glow Up Program, but you can also find apps that are helpful with this too. Try to start tracking your cycle every single month from period length, to intensity, symptoms, etc. You might just notice that those headaches you're getting are actually hormonal. Knowing is power and you simply cannot have a complete glow up without knowing the most intimate part of your body!

If you've made it this far congratulations! You now have every single tool you need to completely transform your mind, body, and soul for a complete glow up!
